It’s the Halloween Season! Time to get our spooky on. Halloween is just around the corner and we want you to be prepared with a guide to our must-watch list of Halloween movies to get you in a spooky mood. Now, we know that some of you guys are not really a big fan of the scary stuff, so we have some spooky but not so scary picks just for you! But hey, we still had to have some creepy, spooky ones in there for out horror lovers out there! Whether you are into it or not, we have an option for everyone in every level of scary. Without further or do let’s get into our guide of the best Halloween movies to get you in a spooky spirit. 


1. The Shining




The classic that left the world horrified! The Shining is a Horror/Mystery film that was filmed in 1980. In this film, Jack, starring Jack Nicholsen, and his wife and son got to a hotel for the winter so that the struggling writer can find some inspiration for his writer’s block. If only they knew what awaited them in this unusual place. This is a story filled with ghosts, horror, and one crazy man that will leave you terrified.  If you love a classic horror film that will make you scream to the top of your lungs, then this is the movie for you! The Shining is now streaming on Amazon prime video.



2. Halloweentown




This one is an oldie but a goodie. If you have zero tolerance for the scary stuff then this is the perfect movie for you to enjoy! Halloweentown is a Disney original movie released in 1998 that follows the story of Marnie, starring Kimberly J. Brown, who discovers that not only is her own grandmother a witch, but so is she! With the urge to discover a part of herself that she never knew, she follows her grandmother to a world beyond her wildest dreams. But those dreams could quickly turn into a nightmare. Witches, evil warlocks, and a silly skeleton await you in Halloweentown. If you want to follow Marnie and her family on their journey in this magical world, you can also check out the sequels Halloweeteen 2, Halloweentown High, and Return of Halloweentown. 3. Get Out



Welcome to modern-day horror! This is not your typical scary movie with magical creatures, demons, and ghosts. This one has its own kind of disturbing and terrifying touch to it. Get Out is a 2017 horror/thriller film filled with all kinds of twists and moments that will shock your pants off. Chris, played by Daniel Kaluuya, and his girlfriend Rose, played by Allison Williams, go on a trip to meet Rose’s family in a secluded area. During the visit, Chris notices some unusual things in the house and the area, and they just keep getting weirder. Little does he know, he has just walked into his possible doom. A spooky secluded town, with creepy people, and, strangely enough, a teacup will make you stop and get chills when watching this movie. 4. COCO



If you are looking for a family-friendly Halloween movie, Coco is the one! Coco is an animated movie about a little boy, Miguel, in Mexico who wants to be a musician. The small problem with that is that musicians had been banned in his family for generations. The movie follows Miguel through an unexpected trip to the Land of the Dead where he meets his ancestors and finds out why musicians had been banned. This movie is full of heartwarming, and comedic moments. This is a must-see for the whole family!



5. Twitches



Are they twins? Or are they witches? Actually, they are Twitches! Starring Tia and Tamera Mowery, Twitches is a Disney original film released in 2005 about twin sisters, Alex and Camryn, with magical powers. Separated at birth, the two sisters live separate and completely different lives, until one day they finally find each other on their 21st birthday. What’s weirder than randomly finding a twin you did not know about? How about that you both also have magic! This arises a lot of confusion and a lot of questions that will slowly unfold as they realize the dangers that are ahead. If you have low scary tolerance, then this is perfect for you. 6. Jigsaw



Want to play a game? If you have ever seen any of the Saw movies then this is a film I know you will enjoy! John Kramer is a deadly assassin who tortures people he believes are unholy and have done wrong to innocent people. But he does not just kill them, like all people who have done wrong, he gives them a chance to correct them. He places a series of deadly tests and tasks that if they fail, they die, simple as that. But this was years ago, and “Jigsaw”, as he was named, is dead, or is he? Jigsaw is a horror/thriller movie released in 2017 about a game that everyone thought would never be played again. When a series of dead bodies appear with the Jigsaw signature symbol, everyone is thinking the same thing, has John Kramer risen from the dead? Watch and find out if John came back to play, or is there a new dealer in this deadly game? If horror is your thing, then watch all of the Saw movies that led to this masterpiece streaming now on Hulu.


7. Haunted Mansion

Did someone say haunted house? Nope! It's a Haunted Mansion, which is even better! This Disney Original film is on the creepier side but not on the scary side. If you like ghosts, singing statues, and physic in a crystal ball, then this is a great movie that you and your friends can sit back and enjoy. Haunted Mansion is a comedy/fantasy film that was released in 2003. This film tells the story of a father and husband Jim Evers, starring comedian Eddie Murphy, and his family who are invited to visit a creepy-looking estate. While visiting, they slowly discover that something unnatural is going on in this mansion. A story long ago unfolds, secrets are revealed, and a twist you never saw coming! Watch now on Disney + and find out how the Evers family helps the lost dark souls lurking in this spooky mansion.


8. Hocus Pocus



This is the one everyone was waiting for! The queens of Halloween themselves, the Sanderson Sisters. Hocus Pocus is a classic Halloween movie with the right amount of spooky and comedy that everyone can enjoy! Starring the queens Sarah Jessica Parker, Bette Midler, and Kathy Najimy, the Sanderson Sisters are three witches from the Salem Witch Era that stay young by sucking the souls of children but were killed before that could hurt anyone else, but that was not the end of them. 100 years later, Max, starring Omri Katz, accidentally releases the three evil witches from their solitude, and danger strikes in the town of Salem, Massachusetts. With the help of a magical cat and a zombie named Billy, Max and his crew have to find a way to stop the Sanderson Sisters from becoming immortal and endangering the town and every child in it. Watch this iconic Disney movie on none other than Disney +, I promise you will not be disappointed!


9. Beetlejuice





Beetlejuice! Beetlejuice! BeetleJui… Don’t Say it three times unless you want you to know who to show up! This classic movie is spooky yet comical, with its star-studded cast list. Alec Baldwin, Catherine O'Hara, Winona Ryder, Micahel Keaton are iconic in this movie. The movie even has a singing number where the main family gets taken over by ghosts. (Whoops! Spoiler Alert!) This Halloween classic can be found on Peacock, a fairly new streaming platform as well as can be rented for the low price of $1.99!



10. Shaun of the Dead


This flick is a spoof on the zombie horror classic, Dawn of the Dead. It’s based around the main character, Shaun, who finds out that everyone in England is turning into zombies. Shaun, his girlfriend, his best friend Ed, and his parents all get together to fight against the zombies taking over their world and decide that the best place to be safe is the neighborhood pub. If you're someone that hates scary movies but still wants to feel a little festive on Halloween, this is the movie for you. It’s light-hearted yet thrilling and something you shouldn't pass up. You can find this flick on Hulu+.
